Welcome to Day 22 of The Challenge.
Be diligent. There are only 3 days left!
~
Servants, obey in all things your masters
according to the flesh; not with eyeservice,
as menpleasers; but in singleness
of heart, fearing God:
~
This is an insightful verse that the Lord has been teaching me about and helping me to live out in my own life. It really brought home to me the principle of authority, which is understanding that God has placed different people in my life (such as parents, Church leaders, and the government) to establish direction, protection, and correction for me.
God has shown me that wherever I am at, whether at home or the work place, if I honor those He has put in authority over me, I will experience the benefits of peace and protection.
Jim Elliot said, “Wherever you are, be all there.” As you obey the authorities God has placed over you, do it with all your heart. This is in accordance with Colossians 3:22: “Servants, obey in all things your masters . . . in singleness of heart, fearing God.”
~ Thomas Paine

Wow, it always helps to remember that where ever we are and in whatever situation, there is ALWAYS an authority over us that we are accountable to them! Thanks for the insight!

Even as business man there are authorities over me. Hey, I’m the boss! But there are authorities over me, not to mention client expectations.
Many people rightly start a business to gain control of their time, and be able to spend more time working from home, only to find that the business grabs them and gives them a good shake, then they are left without time for the Commands of Christ.
So then God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ are not happy with them! In addition, they may end up neglecting their children, they are so busy, and the Government don’t like that either.
So there is authority everywhere. We all have a big red umbrella of authority over us! (Great pic).
