On the Journey, the Lord truly fulfilled Isaiah 64:4 which says, “For since the beginning of the world, men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen O God, beside thee, what He hath prepared for him that waiteth for Him.”

Courtney and Priscilla at Bond FallsAfter a one-accord prayer meeting of confessing sin, praying for each other, crying out to God for deliverance, and the day of delighting in the Lord our team was able to see God’s creation at Bond Falls Scenic Site. It was amazing to see God’s power and love for us through the beautiful waterfall!

Bond FallsWe had a wonderful time taking pictures and later we enjoyed an ice cream treat. As the girls were deciding what kind of ice cream they wanted, the Lord was prompting me to talk with the young girl who was serving us in the gift shop, and to share with her the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ. (We will call her name Kate).

Kate asked questions about our group of girls and really enjoyed meeting us. We were about the same age and had a great time getting to know each other. I then began to share with her my testimony of how I had given my whole heart and life to Jesus Christ and let Him be first place and Lord of my life. I explained to her that this was when Jesus completely changed my life.

I then shared with her the three attitudes you must have to go to heaven. The first attitude is realizing you are a sinner (Romans 3:23), the second attitude is believing God loves you so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross for you (Romans 5:8), and the third attitude is to have a repentant heart (Isaiah 55:6-7) and to say, ‘God, I have been going my way, being the boss of my own life, doing my things. God, I am sorry, and in my heart I now turn to You and want You to be my Lord. I want to follow You from now on and for the rest of my life.’

Kate was so attentive and eager to hear the truth. The phone rang, so as Kate was talking, I went and asked the girls on my team to pray for her.  They began praying right away and asked the Lord to save Kate. I knew the Lord wanted me to ask Kate if she wanted to pray and give her heart to Christ right then and there! Mr. Garvin has been encouraging me to not just be a seed sewer but a fisher of men. (See Matthew 4:19.)

So I went back in after all the customers had left, and I said, “Kate would you like to pray now and give your life to Christ?”  She said, “Yes, I really want to but I don’t know what to say.”  I told her, “That’s okay! Because when I became a Christian I read a prayer to be saved, but I meant every word of that prayer. God can see your heart and knows if you really mean it, even if you don’t know what to say.”

So right there, in the Bond Falls gift shop, Kate prayed to give her heart to Christ!  After she had given her heart to Christ, she said, “Thank you so much for talking with me. I have had lot of questions about God and the things of God, and you really helped me.” I told her to praise the Lord for He is the one that helps us. Kate said, “I know”, with a big smile on her face!

We rejoiced in Kate's salvation as we enjoyed our ice creamI went back outside and thanked the girls for their prayers, as I shared with them what the Lord did in Kate’s heart and how He had answered our prayers. We all rejoiced together for another lost soul being brought into Christ’s Kingdom.  It humbles me to know how much God wants to use us as we listen to and obey the promptings of his Holy Spirit, and how He loves to show us His power by answering our prayers.
