My Pastor here in Taiwan was also interested to hear about how meditating on Scripture works. The power of God to continue changing our own lives as Christians into His likeness is our key to bringing positive change to others because "if My people, which are called by my name [Christians] will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their [own!] wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven [continue to] forgive their sin and heal their land [bring the light of Christ to others]"! May your love for the Lord continue to make conversations meaningful.

Go Jonathan! That was real sensitivity to the Holy Spirit when you didn't drop the conversation after finding out He was a Christian already. Taking that step deeper to meet a practical need that he was facing is the whole essence of discipleship!
