Here is the fourth of twelve verses to be memorized by April 23rd as part of The Challenge II!

“For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord” – Romans 6:23

Notice how the principles in this verse were effectively used in the following story:

A Divine Encounter

Nate Paine At the Indianapolis Training Center, all able young men are given chore assignments for the week. Since our family lives at the Training Center, I was one of those able young men. I was given the responsibility of picking up trash in our parking lot and on the four corners of the property.

One day, as I was heading out to fulfill that responsibility, I felt a prompting from the Holy Spirit to grab my Bible and some tracts. At that moment, I thought to myself that surely no one would be saved even if I did make that simple effort of get my Bible and tracts. But the Lord reproved me in my heart, and showed me that I had a lack of faith in the Him. So I trusted the Lord and grabbed my tracts with my Bible went outside to start picking up trash. (Little did I know what the Lord had in store for me!)

As soon as I got outside–before I even had a chance to start my job–the Lord divinely placed a man walking down the side walk right in front of me.

This was my opportunity to receive God’s grace and to share with this total stranger about the most wonderful thing that had happened to me many years earlier. As I walked up to him, I greeted him by shaking his hand and by showing him an illusion tract along with the Ten Commandments penny by Ray Comfort. As I continued talking with him, we went down the Ten Commandments to see if he had broken any of them, and sure enough he admitted that he had. I told him that there has to be a penalty for his wrong actions and that if he was not saved, he would go to hell for the sin he had committed. I asked him if he could see how he had sinned and how that he needed a Savior, and he told me he recognized that.

I explained the way to salvation through Jesus Christ alone by using the Romans Road, which I had marked out in my Bible beforehand. At this point he realized his need for Jesus to save him from his sin and to come into his life and take full control; and he demonstrated this by accepting Christ as his personal Lord and Savior! Praise the Lord!

Jesus said, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Four Helpful Soulwinning Tips:

Here are some things that I have found helpful in sharing the gospel with others:

1. Gain a Clear Conscience

It is very important to check your own heart before you go witnessing to see if you have given any ground to Satan through disobedience or by a lack of relationship with the Lord.

Why? Because when you go out to witness, you are not really just facing the people that you are witnessing too, but you are literally facing the powers of hell and Satan not wanting you to witness. Just like it says in Scripture how that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places. This is to eliminate all possible factors that would deter that person from receiving the gospel.

2. Know God’s Word

You will be faced many times with different questions that you will need to have an answer to by using God’s Word. But don’t let the thought ever go across your mind that “I don’t know enough of God’s Word to witness”. If you are saved than you know enough to start witnessing because the truth is already in your heart and abounds. Just be faithful in your walk with the Lord and God will be there always to help you even if you don’t have an answer from God’s Word right then.

3. Follow the Holy Spirit’s Leading

This is extremely important, for it is the Holy Spirit that leads one to repentance. Also, the Holy Spirit will lead you to those whose heart’s are many times open and ready to hear God’s Word

4. Be Bold and Friendly

You must be bold about what the Lord has done in your life by telling others. Don’t ever be afraid to share your faith with someone because as God’s Word says that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind!

I sincerely hope you all find this truth helpful to your own personal walk with the Lord, so that you in return can be a mighty witness for the Lord!
