Welcome to the first phase of The Challenge II! Each person who successfully memorizes all of the following verses by April 23rd will receive a free Soulwinners Resource Kit! When you have successfully memorized and quoted all of these verses, have one of your parents call the Journey office at 630-323-9800 ext. 522.
The 12 verses that we have chosen are just a very few of the many that can be effectively used when sharing the good news of salvation. You do not have to use all of them in a Gospel presentation, though at least one from each section would be good. Sometimes God will bring different verses to mind in different conversations. The important thing is to memorize them and know them by heart so that you are ready to share them all without a moment’s notice.
Man Has Sinned
Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
James 2:10: “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
Sin Has Punishment:
Romans 5:12: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Jesus Is the Only Way of Salvation:
John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Romans 5:8: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Salvation—Believe in the Heart, Confess with the Mouth:
Romans 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:13: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
I John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

While meditating on James 2:10 today, God reminded me of a situation He let me witness last year that illustrated His mercy to sinners:
A driver was driving along when suddenly he saw the flashing lights of a highway patrol behind him. After pulling over, the officer clearly stated the offence: not stopping completely at a stop sign. The driver realized his violation and sincerely apologized to the officer. This would have been the moment for the ticket to be given, but instead, the officer in a clear, concerned voiced, said (in different words) the words of Jesus, “Go and sin no more” (John 8:11).
The officer’s attitude simulated that of Jesus: no anger – just deep concern for the welfare of those under his care. And we, out of concern for the eternal welfare for souls around us, should – as the officer did – help others see how they have broken God’s law and give warning of the penalty for their sin: eternal judgment in hell. We can then tell of Christ’s mercy in paying the penalty for us.
Thank you so much for putting this challenge on! These are great verses to have memorized and ready to use! I am excited about the opportunities God will bring to each one of us!

Hey, am I mistaken or are there only 11 verses posted?

Hello Emily! It does appear that way at first glance. However, we included both verses eight and nine of Ephesians 2 so that makes twelve total!
