The 2009 Journeys began on Saturday with this wonderful group of young ladies! Right now they are up in the Northwoods spending a day of prayer, fasting, and delighting in the Lord. Pray that God would reveal Himself to each one as they allow Him to purify their hearts.
"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God" (Matthew 5:8).

The bondage began when I was 14 years old. I fell into looking at wrong magazines and wrong pictures on the computer. This greatly damaged my relationship with the Lord because my sinful desire for these things was competing with my love for Him. I tried and tried to live right but I was not able to overcome this secret addiction.
Two years later, in July of 2008, I was able to go on a Journey to the Heart. God spoke to me in a quite but amazing way. He told me that I needed to put my trust in Him and receive His grace instead of putting my trust in myself to be strong enough to overcome temptation. I realized that I needed to renounce the lies that I was believing, such as the lie that "I will never be able to overcome this sin." God showed me what a long-lasting relationship with Him was all about—it is about living in truth and walking by His side!
After renouncing Satan’s lies and openly confessing my sin, I have had a whole new sense of freedom. Now I am seeking God first with all of my heart and not letting the things of this world compete with my love for Christ!

After spending a few days with Paul and Jenny Speed last week, several us got together and created the first-ever Living the Journey podcast! Listen to real-life examples (even from just last week) of how we identified several lies that we were believing and experienced a whole new outlook on a situation by replacing Satan’s lies with God’s truth.

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy” – Proverbs 28:13.
A spirit of revival broke out at Journey headquarters last week as Paul and Jenny Speed from Whatever It Takes! Ministries shared amazing personal testimonies of the power of truth to bring freedom. Satan is the father of lies (see John 8:44) and believing his lies brings bondage. When we know the Truth, it sets us free! (See John 8:32.) As we renounce “the hidden things of dishonesty” and instead “walk in the light,” we experience the joy of genuine fellowship with God and others. (See II Corinthians 4:2 and I John 1:7.)
This incredible video of the testimony of Jason & Kathryn Kempson was an inspiration to all of us!

God has given Laurie and Chrissy Jalbert a passionate desire to to help other young ladies reach their full potential for Christ.
As they have deepened their own walk with the Lord, God has opened up incredible opportunities for them to show other girls what it means to love the Lord with all of their heart. After leading Journey to the Heart teams in March of 2008, they organized their own Passion for Jesus Conference near their home in Tampa, Florida. It was such a success that another one was planned for March 7, 2009 and they are expecting as many as 400 to attend! More information is available at www.apassionforjesus.com
Many of the speakers at this Conference will be other young ladies who have also led Journey to the Heart teams in recent years:
Please join us in fervently praying for this Conference, each of the speakers, and all of the mothers and daughters who will be attending.
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” – Mark 12:30
