August 2008 Mexican Journey to the Heart

This group of Mexican young people have been working all year—selling tomalies, washing cars, and cleaning for neighbors—just to save up for this first-ever Spanish Journey to the Heart!

There is an incredible eagerness to learn and desire to wholeheartedly seek the Lord. I have been extremely challenged by their willingness to surrender any affection that is competing with their love for the Lord, even if others wouldn’t see any problem with it. Their earnestness in prayer, their attentiveness in sessions, and their focus on eternal values have already set the tone for one of the most powerful Journeys so far!

As they are in the Northwoods this week, pray that God would give them an unquenchable hunger and thirst for righteousness.

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:16).
